Justin von der Fehr began his career in fashion as a model in the mid nineties. Steven Meisel quickly put him on his first cover for Per Lui, which parlayed into the good fortune of walking the runway and shooting for the likes of Dolce and Gabbana and Gianni Versace.
Whether it was back stage during show season or on set, von der Fehr was lucky enough to have his persistent questions about details and materials indulged by the world’s greatest designers and stylists. After years of traveling and never finding the exact pieces he himself really wanted to buy – he decided to make his own. In late 2008, von der Fehr stumbled upon an old crocodile billfold (circa 1950) with solid gold details that had been passed down to him from his grandfather. This singular piece served as inspiration for his entire collection of accessories.
The JvdF line reflects a bygone era; modern with a touch of whimsy and timelessness.
